Pastoral Letter Regarding
From the Rector
Dear St. Anne’s Family – let me begin by acknowledging that I’ve never led a parish during an epidemic (death, debt, and division- yes but never disease) so I’m figuring this out right along with you. The most important thing that I can share is that God’s love is without borders or walls. Wherever we are as Christians, there too is the Church.
The knowledge that we currently have at our disposal makes it clear that COVID-19 is dangerous to a large swath of society, that it is spread via close contact, and people may be contagious without showing symptoms. With this knowledge please make your decisions regarding church (and indeed ANY gathering).
This is not a time for panic or paranoia. We are not a people of fear; we are a people of faith and hope. We are called to be instruments of peace and calm in a turbulent world. The family of St. Anne’s will continue to gather for worship- please remember that our worship is live streamed and can be viewed from anywhere. When we gather in Christ’s name we are one- be it in person or spirit. If you need assistance finding or setting the stream up on your device please let us know.
Please take a moment to read the following information from the Diocese of West Missouri: https://spirit.diowestmo.org/2020/03/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/
Streaming starts a few minutes before the service at 10:00am. If you have a smart tv you can even watch in your living room. Use any of the following:
If you can’t make it and you are worried about giving click here to give via PayPal (though that is obviously the least of our concerns). First and foremost, we are a family- and like everything else we do this together. No matter how we gather, God will be praised!
Love & Peace,
