Mid Week Greetings March 7

Mid-week greetings March 7, 2018

The Mid-Week Greetings is a weekly newsletter detailing parish life at St. Anne’s parish, Lee’s Summit, MO. It is updated and published weekly.

Daylight Savings – It is that favored time of year again. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward on Saturday before you head to bed. We would hate to miss seeing you Sunday morning.

Men’s Group – Wednesday, March 14 – Johnny’s Tavern, Lee’s Summit @ noon

St. Anne’s Ministries – there is a list on the greeting table in the Narthex of all the ministries at St. Anne’s, the person in charge and their contact info. Please take a look at it for accuracy and to be sure no one was left out. Once finalized it will be posted on the bulletin board in the hallway for folks to refer to.

Seder dinner – we will once again host a Seder dinner on Maunday Thursday, March 29. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for both contributions and help and for attendance. If you plan to attend the dinner please sign up and indicate how many people will be attending so we can plan for enough food.

St. Michael’s Pantry –, St. Michaels Pantry can use canned fruit and canned soup which they often do not have in stock. Any donations can be placed in the baskets in the Narthex. Also, if you have a stash of plastic grocery bags that need to be recycled, St. Michaels can also use those. As always, any donations of food, toiletries or lightly use clothing will be appreciated.

Chalice Bearers & Lay Readers – we are need or a couple of more people who would be willing to serve as Chalice bearers and/or Lay Readers.

Food for Fellowship – In order to extend our hospitality to the members of the Church of the Redeemer who use our sanctuary for a service on Sunday evening, the vestry requests that whomever provides for coffee hour each week, please make a point of taking out the trash and sweeping the floor before you leave.

Ushers – Many of you have noticed that we are in the process of several transitions regarding ministries here at St. Anne’s. As of right now, there is no specific person covering the greeter ministry. The Vestry is asking that ushers serve as greeters during their month of service. Thank you so much

If you have something for the mid-week greetings or the Sunday announcement sheet, please email that to laura. Please send Mid-week notices by Wed. at 9:00 am and Sunday Announcements by Sunday at 8:00am.

Sunday SchoolTeachers for Sunday school are always needed and welcome. It is a fairly simply but crucially important ministry. There is no need to be a theological scholar. Teachers are scheduled a month at a time. Teachers are needed for 2 classes; grades 1-3 and grades 4-8. Grades 4-8 uses a curriculum published by the Episcopal church that follows the liturgy. It gives activities and guided discussion ideas. The younger class meets first with the PK-gr. 1 class to hear a story, then separates to their own classroom for discussion and activities. Materials and supplies are provided.

**St. Anne’s decals are available for a $25.00 donation to the mortgage retirement fund.

Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else…– Galatians 6:4
