Missionpalooza 2013 is happening this July in the Diocese of West Missouri. Please see the below text from the WeMoYouth website if you’re interested.
“Seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself. Strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.” And that’s what Missionpalooza is all about! Missionpalooza ’13 begins on Monday, July 15 and ends following the morning Eucharist on Sunday, July 21.
Our friends at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church have hosted Missionpalooza for 13 years!
11 East 40th Street
Kansas City, Missouri
Why come to Missionpalooza?
Missionpalooza trains teens to be Christ’s hands and feet in the world. For five days youth from Kansas, Missouri, and beyond come together in community, mission, fellowship and worship-both inside and outside the walls of the Church. Students spend the night at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri, and spend their days in the urban mission field heeding Christ’s call to feed the hungry, visit the sick, and comfort those in need.
Missionpalooza is co-sponsored by the Dioceses of Kansas and West Missouri, helping us serve the needs of our community by creating opportunities to grow in faith through volunteer service and partnerships. Our dioceses hope that this experience will encourage youth to continue to return home and volunteer locally.
Who can come?
Missionpalooza is open to high school students (first semester freshman year – June after senior year) and to adults who work with youth.
How much does it cost?
The registration fee for this week long event is $160.
Can you bring friends?
Please do! (Just make sure they complete all forms, too)
